Opening Night Gala
This year's Open Night Gala is going to be a blast! This is your chance to get a sneak peak at some hot short films while rubbing your fleece covered elbows with our international guests. We'll have several events throughout the night to keep you engaged and entertained. You'll want to be sure to dress the part but wear your winter best. Part of the evening will be spent outside in front of the Ice and Snow screen. $15 at the door. $10 in advance. Must be 21+ to attend.

Join us to meet and greet our international filmmaker and industry guests. All guests are encouraged to join the mix to tout their films and tell us a bit about themselves and their latest projects. This is also a great time for all attendees and fans to become better acquainted and oriented with the AIFF staff and events. Continental breakfast is included. FREE to all.

DreamWorks SKG Presents
Join us for a screening of First Flight. This Academy nominated short film will be presented by Cameron Hood and Kyle Jefferson--2 talented directors from DreamWorks SKG. This dynamic duo will engage the audience while discussing their work and stories about how they landed their dream jobs with a highly acclaimed studio. Both filmmakers have several films to their credit including Shark Tales; Shrek; and Spirit: Stallion of Cimarron. If you ever thought about a career in animation film this is your chance to learn more about the job opportunities available in this competitive film and gaming industry.

Classic Film - Taxi Driver
Special 30th Anniversary Presentation. So much has been written and talked about 'Taxi Driver' that it seems almost redundant to screen it. However, it's our 2006 AIFF Classic Choice and we're betting very few Alaskans have ever seen it on the silver screen.

Golden Oosik Awards Gala
The culmination of the AIFF is the Golden Oosik Awards Ceremony. The diverse competition juries, comprised of individuals from our community with original and objective points of view, select films to receive our humble awards. Its our chance to say kudos in a special way to a filmmaker for his or her commitment to the art of filmmmaking and supporting the Festival by sharing their vibrant visions with the film lovers of Alaska. This event is exclusively for AIFF Pass holders only.
