Today is the final day of regular screenings and there are still a lot of good films to see. We have 12 screenings scheduled today. There is something for everyone screening today so find a film you like and go see it. We have a lot of visiting filmmakers still in town too so say hello to them and let them know if you liked their films.

Tonight is the Golden Oosikar Awards. After the Oosikars we will announce the Best of Fest screenings which will be playing Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:00 PM in the Alaska Experience Theater.

Monday by popular demand – and because it sold out three screenings already – we are going to screen “Inuk” for a fourth time  at 7:00 PM in the Alaska Experience Theater.

“The Dead Inside” screens Saturday, December 10th at The Bear Tooth Theatrepub. Director/screenwriter Travis Betz will be in attendance and will participate in a Q&A following the screening. Travis is also leading the filmmaking workshop “Just Do It Yourself!” at Out North at 11:30 AM in the gallery.

“The Movement: One Man Joins an Uprising” screens Saturday, December 10th at 2:00 PM at The Alaska Wild Berry Theater. Director/writer Greg Hamilton will be in attendance and will participate in a Q&A session following the screening.

The Movement, narrated by Robert Redford and Warren Miller, tells the story of five individuals from all walks of life who faced incredible obstacles, found the inspiration to overcome them, and became real everyday heroes. Through skiing, each has ultimately discovered or rediscovered the freedom of movement.
